Anchorage DA to decide whether to charges House spokesman

first_imgThe Anchorage district attorney will soon decide whether to file assault charges against the spokesman for the majority caucus of the Alaska House of Representatives.Download AudioKTUU reports Will Vandergriff was arrested for felony assault after police say he was involved in an altercation with a woman at an Anchorage apartment late in the evening on June 12.District Attorney Clint Campion tells The Associated Press that he needs more information on the case, but expects to decide on charges within a week or so. An arraignment was scheduled July 22.The 37-year-old Vandergriff was released on bail June 13. Attempts by the AP to reach him and House Speaker Mike Chenault on Tuesday weren’t immediately successful.But Chenault told KTUU that he placed Vandergriff on administrative leave and will let the court process play out.last_img
