They will play Spain.England, meanwhile, will meet Ireland in the play-off for the bronze medal – which they won last year.Today, the foursomes pairing of Ian Attoe and Richard Partridge was beaten 4/3, while Trevor Foster lost 2/1 and Stephen East lost 3/2. The games of Richard Latham and Rupert Kellock were halved.In the women’s championship in Belgium, England bounced back to form with a 4-1 win over the Netherlands.Helen Lowe and Aileen Greenfield led the way with a 4/3 foursomes win. They were followed by singles wins from Julie Brown (2/1), Sue Spencer (3/2) and Cath Rawthore (4/3). Jackie Foster was beaten only on the last hole.Tomorrow England play France and a win will give them fifth place, the best they could achieve after tumbling out of the medal race.
