Director of football Joaquin Caparros concedes that Sevilla are not optimistic over signing Alvaro Morata from Chelsea, despite the player himself being interested in making the moveSince arriving at Chelsea in July 2017 for a club-record deal of £60m from Real Madrid, Morata has been frequently linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge. The Spanish striker has only scored 16 goals in 47 Premier League games for the Blues and his struggles up front, along with fellow Olivier Giroud, has forced coach Maurizio Sarri to deploy Eden Hazard in a “false nine” role.Reports emerged in Spain this week claiming that Morata’s agent, Juanma Lopez, arrived at Sevilla on Monday to begin talks over a six-month loan deal.Chelsea hat-trick hero Tammy Abraham hopes for more Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Tammy Abraham hopes this season will be his big breakthrough at Chelsea after firing his first hat-trick for the club in Saturday’s 5-2 win at Wolves. But Caparros admits that Chelsea’s tough stance in negotiations makes a deal for Morata unlikely.“It is true that we have an interest in this player [Morata], but it is a very, very complicated operation,” Caparros told SevillaTV.“The player may want to come here over other options, but it is very complicated. Chelsea are a club who are very difficult to negotiate [with].”However, Caparros was able to provide Sevilla fans with more positive news by expressing his confidence in reaching a deal for Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi.

Sony Pictures Zombieland: Double Tap is the sequel many zombie fans have been wanting since the original came out in 2009. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) are returning in a new adventure in a post-apocalyptic US. A new trailer Thursday for Zombieland: Double Tap shows the survivors made their way to Washington, DC, to take over the White House. It seems like the four have a new place to call home, but Little Rock runs away and meets Berkeley (Avan Jogia). The rest of the group sets out into the zombie world to go find her. Share your voice When out searching for Little Rock, Columbus meets another survivor, Madison (Zoey Deutch). It appears there might be some romantic tension as he and Wichita were an item. Also in the trailer is Rosario Dawson (Clerks II, Sin City) as Nevada, though there’s nothing in the clip explaining her back story. At the end of the trailer, Luke Wilson (Old School, Idiocracy) and Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) show up and appear to be bizarro versions of Tallahassee and Columbus. There’s no explanation given in the trailer and the Zombieland: Double Tap IMdB page has no name for their characters. Zombieland: Double Tap hits theaters on Oct. 18. TV and Movies

Murdoch could not immediately be reached for comment. Tesla did not respond to a request for comment. Twenty-First Century Fox declined to comment.Musk is the public face of Tesla, and any chairman would have to contend with his powerful personality. Thanks to his vision and audacious showmanship, Tesla’s valuation has at times eclipsed that of traditional, established U.S. automakers with billions in revenues and the company has garnered legions of fans, despite repeated production issues.”The question when it comes to James Murdoch is, ‘Is he the guy who’ll be able to establish that level of authority with Elon Musk?'” asked Abby Adlerman, CEO of Boardspan, a corporate governance consulting company.Investor concerns that Tesla’s board was too closely tied to Musk led to the company’s addition of two independent directors, including Murdoch, in July 2017.Earlier this year, leading U.S. proxy advisers Glass Lewis & Co and Institutional Shareholder Services, and union-affiliated investment adviser CtW Investment Group, had recommended investors cast votes “against” the re-election of Murdoch as a Tesla director at the company’s annual meeting held on June 5.While CtW cited a lack of relevant experience and a “troubled history as an executive and director,” both proxy firms warned that Murdoch already served on too many boards. He stepped down from the board of Sky Plc on Tuesday following the completion of Comcast Corp’s takeover of the broadcaster.Murdoch was forced out as chairman of Sky, then BSkyB, in 2012 after being embroiled in Britain’s phone-hacking scandal. He returned to Sky’s board in 2016 after rebuilding his career at Fox.Glass Lewis research director Courteney Keatinge said on Wednesday that while Murdoch’s departure from Sky could alleviate some concerns, the Tesla chairmanship would still require a big time commitment as the company faces pressures on many fronts.”I would still have reservations about the time he would be able to allot to this,” Keatinge said.According to the FT report, external options were still being considered.Considering a broad choice of candidates was important, said Dieter Waizenegger, executive director of CtW Investment Group, because “Investors should really be wary about the board making the easy choice here” in opting for Murdoch.Murdoch is set to be succeeded by his brother Lachlan Murdoch as Twenty First Century Fox chief executive officer, after the media group completes the sale of bulk of its assets to Walt Disney.’STABILITY AT THE TOP’Tesla faces a crucial moment as it struggles to produce its Model 3 sedan in large volume and deliver it quickly to customers amid an ongoing cash crunch that has concerned some analysts. Musk has vowed that the loss-making company will be profitable and cash flow-positive in its third and fourth quarters.Concerns about Musk due to production delays and manufacturing challenges have been exacerbated by a series of damaging actions, including Musk insulting analysts on a conference call, calling a British cave rescuer a pedophile, and joking on April Fool’s Day that Tesla was going bankrupt.Shares are down 20 percent since the beginning of the year.”Elon Musk is building a great company but has been erratic to say the least when it comes to thinking about his investors,” said Chaim Siegel, an analyst at Elazar Advisors. “The company needs some added stability at the top to win back investor confidence.”Under terms of the SEC settlement, Musk is not permitted to be re-elected to the chairman’s post for three years. Tesla is also required to appoint two new independent directors to its board. With U.S. stock markets broadly lower, Tesla shares closed down 2.3 percent at $256.88. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk speaks at the International Astronautical Congress on September 29, 2017 in Adelaide, AustraliaGetty imagesOutgoing Twenty-First Century Fox Inc Chief Executive James Murdoch is the lead candidate to replace Elon Musk as Tesla Inc chairman, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, but Musk in a tweeted reply to the newspaper said, “This is incorrect.”Tesla has until Nov. 13 to appoint an independent chairman of the board, part of settlements reached last month between Tesla, Musk and U.S. regulators in the wake of Musk tweeting in August that he had secured funding to take the electric car maker private. The SEC settlement capped months of debate and some investor calls for stronger oversight of Musk, whose recent erratic public behaviour raised concerns about his ability to steer the money-losing company through a rocky phase of growth. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which said Musk’s tweeted statements about going private were fraudulent, allowed the billionaire to retain his role as CEO while requiring he give up his chairmanship.Musk had said he was considering taking Tesla private at a price of $420 a share, a number that is slang for marijuana. He tweeted the three-word denial of the Financial Times story, on Wednesday at 4:20 pm PT (2320 GMT), about six hours after the newspaper’s post.In a vote of confidence for Musk, shareholder T. Rowe Price Group Inc said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday that it had raised its stake by nearly half to 10.2 percent at the end of September from just under 7 percent in June. The Financial Times cited two people briefed on discussions saying Murdoch was the lead candidate for the job.Murdoch, already an independent director of Tesla, has signalled he wants the job, the report said. The son of Fox mogul Rupert Murdoch, he joined Tesla’s board last year after years of work with media companies. He has no experience in manufacturing and has never led a company that makes cars or electric vehicles.
The photo shows chaotic situation on a road. File PhotoRuling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) ministers, parliamentarians, leaders and their relatives are largely responsible for the chaotic situation prevailing in the public transport sector, bus owners and experienced drivers say.The situation has worsened after the officials of law enforcement agencies started doing business in the sector buying buses and minibuses in the name of other persons, they claimed. The ruling party leaders and their relatives control the bus owners and workers’ associations in the capital, which restricts the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and law enforcement agencies to take effective actions against the vehicles without fitness and route permit, and the drivers who drive recklessly, they say. There is no more rule of law in the roads, they observed. The chaotic situation of the transport sector came to the fore after school and college students began a demonstration demanding punishment to those responsible for 29 July accident on Dhaka airport road, which killed two of their fellows, and resignation of the shipping minister for his comments on the accident.Abdul Karim Rajib and Dia Khanam Mim, class XII and XI students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College, were killed on the spot after an Uttara-bound bus of ‘Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan’ lost control and ran over the students standing beside the road around 12:00 noon.Shipping minister Shahjahan Khan’s brother-in-law Syed Nurul Haque alias Nannu was one of the directors of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan bus service. He, however, told Prothom Alo that he is no longer involved with the company and sold his buses three years ago.Shahjahan Khan is the president of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation. Some 70 buses of Kanak Paribahan, owned by his brother Hafizur Rahman, operate in three routes in the capital. The minister encourages the transport workers to stage demonstrations whenever citizens demand safety on roads or courts take action against reckless driving. He advised the workers from a meeting at his home to enforce strike after a court handed down death sentence to a driver and lifetime imprisonment to another one in February 2017.Bangladesh Road Transport Samity president and state minister for cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga was also present in the meeting.Shipping minister, however, on Wednesday told Prothom Alo that slowly the transport sector is being disciplined and the number of road accidents is waning as he is in leadership.Another influential person of this sector is Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association general secretary Khandaker Enayet Ullah, a vice-president of AL’s Dhaka north unit.Mentioning that he is in the business for the last 35 years, he said, there is no such law in Bangladesh that bars people from a certain profession to do politics here.AL MPs Pankaj Nath, AKM Shamim Osman and two former MPs Shahida Tarekh Dipti and Ashrafunnesa Mosharraf (Swapna Services) are also involved in the transport business.Swechhsebak League general secretary Pankaj Nath-owned bus service company ‘Bihanga Paribahan’ began its journey in 2009. The transport committee of the government gave permission to 240 buses of Bihanga Paribahan to operate on five routes in and around the capital.Shamim Osman’s bus service company is ZN Corporation. Some 50 AC buses of this company were permitted to operate between Dhaka’s Gulistan and Narayanganj.Besides, MPs’ family members, Dhaka city Awami League leaders and associate bodies of the ruling party, Dhaka city corporations’ councillors are also involved in the business.Officials of the government and law enforcement agencies are also found to be involved in the business. Relatives of a few high officials of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) do the business jointly with several companies. Several persons of a certain district have opened public transport companies in the last few years. Most of these ministers, MPs, and influential persons have become owners of bus companies after the Awami League came to power in 2009. Earlier, ministers and MPs, including public works minister Mirza Abbas, of BNP-Jamaat alliance government used to do the business.Dhaka (north) metropolitan unit Juba League, youth wing of Awami League, president Mainul Hossain Khan alias Nikhil is the chairman of Chalan Paribahan. This is why death toll and chaos on the roads is on the rise, he added.*The piece, published in Prothom Alo print edition, has been rewritten in English by Shameem Reza.
Under a reorg at AT&T’s WarnerMedia, Tony Goncalves, CEO of Otter Media, will now lead the development of the forthcoming WarnerMedia direct-to-consumer service. In addition, Andy Forssell, most recently COO of Otter Media and former CEO of Hulu, will move into the role of EVP and GM of the new, as-yet-unnamed streaming service, reporting to Goncalves. With the changes, Brad Bentley is exiting WarnerMedia Entertainment group as EVP and GM for direct-to-consumer development after six months in the role. The executive reshuffling comes as WarnerMedia has moved Otter Media under the oversight of the WarnerMedia Entertainment group, headed by Bob Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer. Goncalves, who continues to oversee Otter’s existing brands and services, now reports to Greenblatt; previously he reported up to WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey, a longtime AT&T exec who took over the reins at the former Time Warner. How an Economic Downturn Could Ravage Hollywood Related Kevin Reilly, president of TBS, TNT and TruTV and chief content officer for the direct-to-consumer service, will remain in that position, reporting to Greenblatt.Last November, WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey had appointed Bentley, previously a longtime DirecTV exec, into the GM role overseeing all aspects of the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming service. The exit of Bentley, who played a similar role in the launch of DirecTV Now, suggests the WarnerMedia subscription VOD product may have been missing deadlines or other targets.WarrnerMedia’s direct-to-consumer SVOD service will pull together content from HBO, Warner Bros. and Turner cable networks as well as original programming. It’s slated to debut in the U.S. in a beta form in the fourth quarter of 2019, with a full launch in Q1 2020.“I’m confident that with Tony and Andy leading our product and operations, Kevin and HBO’s Casey Bloys guiding our content strategy, and with Bob at the helm, we have a formidable team creating a curated streaming service with a winning combination of content and features,” Stankey said in a statement.About Bentley, Stankey added, “I also want to thank Brad for his leadership in bringing the project to this point in record time.”AT&T has set big expectations for the new WarnerMedia SVOD service, which will vie against not only Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video but also Disney Plus, slated for a Nov. 12 launch. AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, at an investment conference this month, said it will “become a significant driver of our growth over the next few years as we stand this product up… We think this is in the tens of millions of subscribers that we will have on this.”Otter Media’s business comprises Fullscreen, focused on branded content and influencer marketing; anime streaming service Crunchyroll; Rooster Teeth, focused on sci-fi, gamer and anime-style content; and VRV, a subscription VOD aggregation service.Greenblatt, in a statement, said, “The thriving Otter Media businesses are important to this company and I’m happy to welcome Tony and Andy to our direct-to-consumer team. This group’s expertise will be invaluable to our new streaming service as we aim to bring content from the best storytellers in the world to an audience that expects the highest quality digital experience.” Popular on Variety Goncalves joined Otter Media as CEO last year, when it was still a joint venture between AT&T and Chernin Group. (AT&T announced the deal to buy out Chernin Group’s stake in the venture in August 2018.) Previously, Goncalves was CEO of AT&T’s Digital Brands and head of strategy and business development. He came to AT&T with the telco’s acquisition of DirecTV, where he had held various management roles, most recently as SVP of the digital entertainment products group.Forssell came to Otter from Fullscreen, where he had served as COO since 2015. Forssell had been at Hulu since 2007, shortly after its formation.WarnerMedia had already taken several steps to restructure Otter Media. The changes included shifting Machinima from Warner Bros.’s aegis to Otter Media — which then effectively shut down Machinima and folded some remaining staff into groups at Fullscreen and Rooster Teeth. Otter Media also folded the Fullscreen Live in-person tour group and the Fullscreen Direct fan-engagement service. In addition to its operating business units, Otter Media’s portfolio includes a majority stake in digital-first studio Gunpowder & Sky and minority stakes in Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine content company for women and Mars Reel high school athletes.
