Celtic play Rangers on Sunday 1 February in the first Old Firm meeting since 2012.Ahead of the Hampden Park clash, talkSPORT caught up with Hoops fan Jim Kerr of Simple Minds fame (and Alan Brazil’s mate) to discuss a fixture he thinks is wilder than the English and Milan derbies he has seen.Kerr also revealed how Simple Minds were probably among the first people to know about former Celtic player Mo Johnston’s controversial move to Rangers from Nantes in 1989.However, when the player told the band the news over a few beers, they did not believe it. Surely if Johnston was returning to Scotland after two years in France, it would only be to one club, right?Simple Minds’ new album, ‘Big Music’ is out now. See simpleminds.com for more.

A group of South African companies from four provinces will get an opportunity to showcase their products in China when they participate in the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) that will take place in Shanghai from 5-10 November 2019. The group’s participation is organised and funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) through its Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) Scheme. The objective of the scheme is to develop export markets for South African products and services, and to recruit new foreign direct investment into the country. The CIIE is part of the Chinese government’s initiatives to support trade liberalisation and economic globalisation by actively opening the country’s huge market to the world. The CIIE is an open international cooperation platform provided by China for countries to showcase their products. It is also an international public platform provided by the Chinese government for all the countries in the world to discuss major issues of foreign trade, world economy and global economic governance.According to the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Nomalungelo Gina, China is expecting to import products and services valued at more than US$10 trillion and this will provide a massive opportunity for enterprises across the world to enter the huge Chinese market.“Our continuous participation in the CIIE will contribute significantly in helping us to increase the export of value-added products to China. Since 2009, China has been South Africa’s number one trading partner globally as well as in the Asian region. Total trade between South Africa and China grew from R271 billion in 2013 to R332 billion by the end of 2018. However, 86% of our exports basket to China is concentrated on primary products. There are concerted measures underway to promote value-added goods and services by broadening the export base and increasing South Africa’s market share in China,” says Gina.South Africa was among the twelve countries which were invited as guest countries of honour in the inaugural CIIE which was successfully held in Shanghai in November last year. More than 172 countries, districts and international organisations participated in the event. Products and services from more than 3 600 enterprises and companies were exhibited. SA’s participation in the first CIIE also formed part of the South Africa-China 20-Year Celebration of Diplomatic Relations. South Africa had the biggest representation of all countries from Africa and had the largest footprint at the event.Gina adds that South Africa’s participation will also contribute in strengthening both political and economic bilateral relations between South Africa and China. It is also expected to increase trade between the two countries in general, and South African exports of value-add products in particular.“As a fellow member of the Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) grouping, participating in exhibitions like these will boost intra-BRICS trade and investment,” says Gina.Enquiries:Sidwell Medupe-Departmental SpokespersonTel: (012) 394 1650Mobile: 079 492 1774E-mail: MSMedupe@thedti.gov.zaIssued by: The Department of Trade and IndustryFollow us on Twitter: @the_dti
Why Tech Companies Need Simpler Terms of Servic… Top Reasons to Go With Managed WordPress Hosting brian proffitt Tags:#Apple#pornography#twitter A Web Developer’s New Best Friend is the AI Wai… Related Posts iOS users are happily trying out Twitter’s new Vine app, posting six-second videos of their lives for their followers to see. But already there are reports of pornographic imagery appearing on the new service, which spotlights Apple’s next move: should Vine stay or should it go?The new social media app, which records and posts short videos to display in continuous loops on your Twitter account, is garnering a lot of praise as creative folks are pushing out cute little vignettes. It’s also getting a early reports of videos depicting nudity and sex. While it’s not clear how much porn one can fit into six seconds (insert obligatory male performance joke here), it hasn’t stopped people from trying.Where There’s Media, There’s PornThat there’s porn on Vine is not a surprise. Since there were cave drawings, humans have been visually recording all things sexual. Vine is just another medium for the activity. What will be interesting is Apple’s reaction (or non-reaction) to the realization that gasp! there’s naughty bits on one of the apps in their App Store.Apple’s policies about nudity, sex and all things in between are the stuff of legend, of course, and just recently have been brought into the spotlight again when the software maker opted to pull apps associated with the popular 500px photo-sharing service out of the App Store. The decision to remove 500px apps would seem to be very germane to Vine, since content that Apple (or anyone else) would deem pornographic is appearing on Vine. And, unlike 500px, which clearly indicated galleries that contained explicit content, Vine content is not required to be so indicated. Which means, theoretically, any Vine link could potentially be a skinfest. This is not to advocate the removal of Vine. If consenting adults want to look at this stuff, that’s their call. But in keeping with Apple’s own policies, Vine has some real porn potential and deserves a review.Cut The Vine?If Vine remains on the App Store after such a review, this would demonstrate a serious flaw in Apple’s store model. If Apple placates big-name app developers and bend the rules for them to let their apps stay in the App Store, then the unfairness we’ve suspected will be brought into the harsh light of reality. If Vine does get pulled, then at least Apple is consistent. But it will also show that the App Store policy is ultimately silly: instead of pulling apps out wholesale, why not just require parental controls or other safe-search-like features in any app where there’s a potential for explicit content to be displayed? This would seem to be a more reasonable approach, and Apple, as the sole developer of iOS, would seem to be in an excellent position to build tools into their iOS SDK to accomplish this.Even if you disagree with the need for such controls, having them present would seem to be a reasonable compromise that would work in the real world and not in the Reality Distortion Field.Image courtesy of Shutterstock. 8 Best WordPress Hosting Solutions on the Market
