SADNESS AS SECOND FISHERMAN DIES FOLLOWING TOXIC LEAK

first_imgA second fisherman involved in this week’s toxic leak on board a trawler in Killybegs has died.Letterkenny General HospitalThe man, who was in his 40s and from the Philippines, passed away at Letterkenny General Hospital earlier today.His name has not yet been released. It followed the death of 27 year old James Joyce from the Aran Islands in Galway who died on Monday evening.Both men had been working on a Galway-rgistered trawler when the accident happened.It is understood the man who died today had gone into the trawler to help his colleague but was also overcome by fumes.Separate investigations are underway by Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority.
